Its shorter, but not by much.
5 had more side content. Or at least side content that was worth doing. It also had longer, more complex dungeons, where as 4 basically has dungeons about 8 - 10 levels long that essentially function the way Mementos does in 5. (It sounds a lot worse than it is.) It's fine though because really these games are all about the characters, and they're all great (except Rise, whom I developed actual disdain for).
The game itself isn't hard at all, and if you really dont want to do what I did ( basically clearing every floor, and returning once or twice for fetch quest side missions) you have the option to up experience gained and money gained in the options. Personally I never felt the need to do that, but it is there.
My play through was about 110 hours. The average seems to be about 90. Persona 5 Royal is about 150.

Just remember, its not over till its OVER.

I assumed that would be the case, what with the ending I got at the very beginning. I'm looking for all sorts of ways they'll mess with me. Do you know about how many hours I'll be putting into the game?

I have a vague memory of 80-ish?
Maaan, the good shit is coming. If you were lucky enough to play this game with no spoilers what-so-ever, you are in for a treat. Because I spoiled it for myself (which was probably good, because I wouldnt have finished otherwise) and even I was going through some mind fuckery.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
I immediately wrote off Nier: Automata as weeb bait upon first glance, and it wasn't until I kept hearing consistently good things about it that I decided to look into it. I don't regret it. It was a stellar game with surprisingly unique and fantastic story-telling with very memorable characters and moments. The soundtrack is beautiful, and I consider myself lucky that I got to attend the Nier concert when they finally moved it overseas.

I'm very much looking forward to the PC release of Horizon: Zero Dawn in a few days. I've heard so much good stuff about this game (not so much about the facial animations ^^), so this should be a good time.

I watched my brother play it and the first memory that came back was the facial animations. Plus I felt like every character interaction scene was a copy paste. But that's it. Everything else seemed really fun and challenging. I felt it looked really similar to Andromeda. Was there a chance they were both built on...was it Frostbite?

No, for 2 reasons Frostbite is EA's engine and they didn't make the game.
The engine is called Decima it's the same engine Death Stranding is running on, you can even find easter eggs of Death Stranding in Horizon or easter eggs of Horizon in Death Stranding as a little side note.

Man, what a game. Its really a wonderful time. Its dungeons aren't even in the same league as Persona 5, but even with that, it was still a fantastic game.
If you like 5, you have to play 4. At least 4 Golden which is available on steam. It aged just fine, and has extremely likable characters (except Rise). I just cant say enough good things.
Much like 5, I'd give Persona 4 an easy 10/10.
As I've said, I found the character arcs better than Persona 5, and the setting itself is vastly more comfy. City vs town, accepting yourself versus railing against society, Naoto vs Kawakami, etc.
That said, P5 is superior overall. Especially in that it oozes style, and the gameplay loop is more refined and varied.
P3 needs a remaster, as the portable and console versions each have superior qualities, so consolidating into one game, on the PC, would be lovely.
Rise annoyed me at first, but as I went through her social link, I found a peaceful neutrality towards her.

I was neutral towards Rise, but as I went through the game I grew to hate her more and more.
I mean look, its kind of cute for her to be jealous of other girls when you aren't in a romance with anyone. But once it late game, you've picked your partner, and she is still doing it?
I literally shouted at the screen "Rise! For fucks sake, we aren't dating!" at one point. Plus I think her whole Social Link Arc might actually be worse than Ann's.
(Plus, I swear to Christ, two years after the events of the game Rise will be found dead in a ditch with the words 'SENPAI YOUR DEFENSE HAS BEEN LOWERED' carved into her fucking forehead.)
Anyway... I agree on the town front. The small town had a nice feel. Kawakami doesn't do it for me, so its more Futaba vs Naoto for me. Futaba wins, but Naoto is pretty damned close. Thankfully they are in separate games!

I remember meeting her and knowing she was clearly going to subvert the "Maru-q, I'm Risette, the spunky teen idol!" act, since the character arcs are all about first rejecting their lot in life, then coming to accept it with newfound maturity (or malice), and that bugged me, because I assumed she was going to be a rich and famous girl who feels sad because no one appreciates her mind or some shit.
But then she was rather pleasant. Not enough to ever romance, not enough to dislike. As opposed to Ann, who I was entirely apathetic towards. I believe in Rise's romance path, she actually tells Yu outright she wants to have some babies and cook and be a housewife, once her looks go. Which in Japan idol culture I assume means age 20. Ohohoho.
Honestly the only named NPC I didn't like was Marie. I don't recall what sort of state I was in, but her conversations were like rubbing a cat's fur the wrong way. Didn't get it at all, or find her poetry (That was her thing right?) charming. Granted, the final scene with her on TV was very cute.

That is, canonically, unlikely. Shes basically a Japanese movie star now. You literally find posters of her in Persona 5. Shes starring in a movie called Sapphire. Didn't really understand that was a reference until I played 4. Also didn't know the relevance of Futaba's mask.
Anyway I liked Marie. I like that kind of character in general, and her poetry isn't good, but its charming enough. I would have went with her if not for Naoto.

Every time Toby Fox gives an update to his progress with making games, I am more and more amazed he has managed not to self destruct like literally every other indie developer out there.

I dont know if there is much to really indicate that. But he's the kind of person who, wisely, doesn't really put much of his personal self out there.
More than anything, I imagine that's what allows him to be so stable. As far as most of his fans are concerned, he really is just a small white dog.
Re: Tali'Thread vas Clan Zorah nar BSN 6.0
Back when Undertale was picking up steam, recall someone, somewhere saying he's a furry, but I genuinely didn't care, but it made sense.
Regardless, that much is wise. Biggest mistake all these creative sorts make lately is putting way too much of themselves in the open. If I ever got off my ass to make the things I want to make, I'd keep a gulf of separation between myself and my work.

No idea if I believe that or not, but its a creative group. I wouldn't be surprised. It would certainly explain a few things.

"The realm of the Wood Elves returns… We can reveal that the next DLC for WARHAMMER II is indeed a Lord Pack, focusing on the Wood Elves, and we will also be revisiting one of the original core races from WARHAMMER II.
This Lords Pack is packed full of all of the great content that you’ve come to expect from Total War DLC, but this time we are excited to talk to you about a few additional ways we are giving a little extra back to our fans who have joined us on this journey through the Warhammer world! However, there’s a couple of things that you need to know about it, so please take a glance through the below for a bit of a breakdown
FOR OWNERS OF TW: WARHAMMER II:
You’re getting a full and complete Legendary Lords pack that will introduce you to two brand new Legendary Lords, each with their own factions, objectives, mechanics, units and playstyle. As always, you’ll be able to use them in the Eye of the Vortex campaign, and custom/multiplayer battles. We’ll also be dropping an awesome new free hero, for all Total War: WARHAMMER II players to enjoy.
FOR OWNERS OF TW: WARHAMMER AND TW: WARHAMMER II:
We’ll of course be continuing our Old World Updates for Mortal Empires so you can use all your shiny new content in the Mortal Empires Campaign. This update will also bring some reworks for the Wood Elves faction and some general Mortal Empires updates to the game.
FOR OWNERS OF TW: WARHAMMER, TW: WARHAMMER II AND THE REALM OF THE WOOD ELVES DLC PACK:
If you’ve been with us since the beginning, we have a few additional surprises lined up that make this, already jam-packed DLC, even more interesting.
If you’ve collected all that content you’ll also get a bonus legendary lord with all the trimmings! We can’t wait to introduce you to her. We’re looking at this DLC as something that’s really for the players who want to complete their collection. While you can absolutely buy it and get a ton out of it if you only own WARHAMMER II, it’s also true that you’ll get the most out of it is if you own WARHAMMER , WARHAMMER II and the existing Realm of the Wood Elves DLC, and we think it’s worth us being upfront about that here."

Square Enix has confirmed Spiderman (Peter Parker) will be joining their big Avengers Game as one of the first post-launch playable character.
Too bad he's gonna be a PlayStation exclusive, because Sony can't let us have nice things anymore, apparently.

It's a mixed bag so far, as far as I'm concerned. I really like the idea of a big superhero game with an ongoing story, but I am starting to feel REALLY tired of the same aestetic and the same 6-7 characters from the movies being used in everything Marvel-related, and considering that guddamn MODOK is their first big villain it looks like thei're taking themselves waaaay more seriously than they should.
Getting some cool early post-launch content to shake things up would have been a good sign, but the first two heroes that'll be added to the game are now confirmed to be a Sony exclusive, and Hawkeye. And I bet what you want Captain Marvel won't take long to show up either, so it might literally be most of an year before something or someone worth playing for extended periods of time gets added to the game.
I hope it turns out to be a cool game in the end but... it might take a while...

Sorely needed, glad to see it. Wood Elves have a real rough go of it in Mortal Empires. Their units are fantastic, their territory is fairly solid to defend, but you have to either go on suicidal attacks to loot wealth, or, turtle for like 80 fucking turns grinding rebellions, until the Empire and Dwarves want treaties so you can get enough amber to actually build cool things.
That and rewarding nerds who have all the content up 'till now is nice.
