Turns out when you just decide you dont want to deal with anything or collect any items, you can get through the valley of defilement with relative ease.

It helps that every single boss is designed to fuck over melee characters, and have no defense against magic nuking them from orbit what so ever.

But it is definitely the worst of all of them if you dont have that option.

Seeing those versions of those characters again actually gets me a little emotional.

Also man, I forgot how cool Raiden looked. I've always liked Raiden, but the MK Movie outfit is the coolest he has ever looked.

Well, hit level cap (60) already. Doing about 30% of the side quests, tops, still had around 3/4's of the last leveling zone to go.

The WoW art team really does deadlift the company sometimes, because they outdid themselves, especially with Revandreth. The zones stories are rather similar to BfA, in that the overarching plot is kinda weak, but the personal stories are fairly strong. Revandreth thus far has sucked me in the most, and I do enjoy how they blatantly ripped off Bloodborne for the aesthetics, and now have a Glowing Sea area too.

Bastion was alright, strongest at the start, but the utterly inept way the Archon is running things has me confused as to what I'm supposed to be feeling about the faction. Their initial presentation is Lawful Stupid, but if you pay attention and think for a second about their intended purpose, it all makes far more sense. That they've done literally nothing to prepare defenses against their rebels, up to the point

Maldraxxus was plain fun. Welcome to the Thunderdome, get stuck in, biiiiitch. Really liked the House of Plagues guy we make friends with. Draka's a bizarre choice for lead story NPC there (It's for ulterior reasons, of course), but she's fine. Liked simple, happy zombie bros just wailing on each other, plus the obvious outcome.

Night Fae stuff. Eh. It's the same "protect the forest area from corruption" we've done so many times by now. I would fuck the deer-people tho. A second covenant headed by a big blue mommy. I suspect it's not for no reason. Decent story, like the "mask" concept, and I'm not sure if they _ever_ mentioned why saving

And I'm in the back half of the Revandreth story. Just met the Mad Duke, surprised Blizzard had the restraint to actually let the initial setup breathe before the obvious part kicked in. Really like these asshole vampires and their Cockney mutant laborers. Probably going to pick them, because while I like the Maldraxxus abilities a bit more, the teleport is neat, and since WWs are a fucking pet class already in our burst window, might as well add "dead monk souls" to the spectacle.

The Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity game is... well, its OK. Its not great, because its a Dynasty warriors game. But its not bad.

Its definitely better than the first Hyrule Warriors.

Frankly the fact that it takes place in the Breath of the Wild story, and gives you more time to spend with the Champions really helps it along. It is fun to use Mipha's aquaman-style water magic, or beat shit down as Daruk, or teleport behind them nothing personal kid as Impa.

Also amusing is my theory about why the voice acting in Breath of the Wild was so... not amazing seems to be correct. The actors were fine, its just they were being given terrible direction. Because all the same voice actors are in this game, and they are much much MUCH better.

The main problem I can already see coming is that this is very obviously heading towards alternate universe, rather than a true prequel. And the last thing the Zelda series needs is ANOTHER timeline.

Black Friday deals have been a lemon so far. Granted, I don't like to shop, but none of the sundries I'd actually buy, or be tempted to buy, are on sale.

That said, the Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town remake is on sale on Steam, and my fondness for that quaint little series is more tempting than the waning days of NNN.

Also, the last boss of one of the new WoW dungeons, De Other Side, is interesting. In that at certain points, he does a big, slow cast that kills everyone, unless you take a portal that pops up near his hands, to go do another mechanic. Attempting to explain this concept to people on their first try, who might not speak English thanks to server merges, is...interesting.

God damn it... I'm legitimately kind of loving Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity.

I cant in good consciousness say its a good game, because its a repetitive, hack an slash, Dynasty Warriors game. But at the same time I find myself smiling while I play it. Its satisfying in the same way I find Dragon Age 2 satisfying. Its not a good game, but by God I like the characters in it so much that I cant help but have a good time playing it.

I also think there is a 90% chance I gave myself carpel tunnel while playing it, because you mash the shit out of those buttons.

Man, its going to be SO disappointing when the story catches up to the fun I'm having, because both "Naw man they all died" and "ALTERNATE UNIVERSE HAPPY ENDING!" are both going to be equally unpalatable.

Announcement & trailer for the next expac. Usually it comes a bit earlier, but Covid pushed their schedule. I assume this means a release for Winter 2021.

I think I'll subscribe again for 5.5 or 5.55 so I can finish the story and have some other things to do, like the third NieR raid, Eden & the last two weapons.

Honestly, 5.3 was so incredible that whatever comes next is likely to feel like a letdown.

I've discovered I have been eating shrimp incorrectly my entire life.

I knew there was a little chunk of meat in the tail going to waste, but no one ever told me, and it never occurred to me until now, that if I lightly bite and twist, it'll come loose. Which is comical, given my age, and that I'm quite good at extracting the meat from crab legs, which is considerably more tricky.

It's comical, really. But also annoying, because nobody ever told me I was wasting good shrimp.
