I realized that waiting for a 3080 TI with 20 GB would only save me about 400 Euros and make me wait another half year or so. Also, I failed a Will save vs. Cyberpunks imminent release after reading the first review. :p

I don't have a 4k monitor so a 3080 should get me max settings at 1440p I hope, especially if I used DLSS.

I'm going with a 3080 when I next get the chance/have the money.

Which might be March so....yeah...might be in stock then, lol.

Considering Asus or MSI in terms of "brand", or maybe EVGA if I want a LOUD rig.

The only issue with it is the case (might not be big enough) and the potential that the new build WILL be a rebuild if I want faster RAM for whatever reason.
Also it doesn't include a storage fix I have to do.
For some reason my E drive is chock full of random fucking files that I have no idea what they're form/for.

Got the card and the new power source installed, took about 2 hours to do so. I feel quite empowered having it done by myself. Been a while.

And the game still says it's not December 10th yet, although it clearly is and it's past 01:00 a.m. CST. I guess there will be a lot of "Oh, SHIT!" and running at CD Project Red HQ right now.

Newegg put up a restock alert for 7PM. Refreshing the page every second, soon as it was up, mashed through as fast as possible, literal seconds, and the site went down. Yeah, no. The "Fort" I report to is more of a Camp, and doesn't have all the amenities of my Active Duty base.

A good alternative is a home theater system hooked up via optic cable. 5.1 surround, good coverage, easy enough to set up. The system I scavenged is easily 15 years old and does better than most PC speaker setups.

Anyway, shopping for some new knives and parts for my Maverick 88. Thanks to the pandemic, panic buyers of anything tactical, and the political climate, parts for my shotgun are hard to find. Knives a little less so, but finding a good Kukri is a pain in the ass.

Funny enough, I don't use my studio for any entertainment. I have a sound bar in the corner of my living room that does a good job though. That's about it.

Kukri, is that the bent knife they featured in Waterworld? I have one that's sitting in my garage. Last thing I did with it was get it sharpened. What's the policy on sending weapons like that through the mail?

Also, I'll just say this. Link knows damned well what that armor means. He accepted the armor. As far as I'm concerned, any theory that they have a relationship is perfectly valid.

My game ended with Link wearing the Zora Armor with the Sapphire crown, so as far as I was concerned, he was Mipha's "prince".

Starting through with Cyberpunk 2077 today. Yesterday I installed the new graphics card and power source after a full day of work and raiding for three hours (only 3/10 bosses down, but it was fun) until 00:30 a.m. Yep, I'm quite proud of that, especially since the new power source came with a "choose your own cables you want" set-up, which I'd never seen before. I'll report back about how the game is this evening, when I got a proper playtime out of it. So far, I've only built my V (very good customization options, without allowing full-on deformed mutants, good choice, IMO) and played the 30-minute Nomad intro.

I do agree with the common opinion I see online that the voice actress did a better job in AoC, but that’s probably because she was given better direction/less restrictions on how to perform compared to BotW/is now more familiar with the character.

The funny thing is, there’s tons and tons of interspecies romance fanfics and fanart of Link with every character and every species in Hyrule. And they've been doing it since at least OoT; I remember seeing the Link x Ruto content back in the day. And Link x Midna is insanely popular, and that's interspecies. So clearly the LoZ fanbase as a whole doesn’t have issues with the concept, and like most sci-fi genre fans, fantasy genre fans tend to be onboard for such things. (All those half-elves and half-orcs and half-dragons and half-demons and whatnot don't just pop out of holes in the ground!)

Indeed, Link may not be the brightest bulb ever(he's Courage, not Wisdom after all), but he wouldn't be unaware of the armor's meaning and therefore Mipha's true feelings. And since we now have a second BotW timeline where Mipha survived, as far as my Link is concerned, he wore it and accepted the proposal behind it. My Link's definetely got a taste for fish.

Ya know, something I hadn't really considered before because she was dead and therefore it was a moot point but is now relevant with what AoC has done: full adult Zora in BotW are pretty tall, much taller than Link. And Sidon and King Dorephan are even taller than that. While Mipha is the smallest Champion at the moment being so young (for her species), she's not done growing, and if she's anything like her brother or father, she's going to get quite a growth spurt as the years pass. Link might have to get used to straining his neck looking up (or soreness in the bedroom...); but hey, that's where her healing power comes in handy, right?

Well the people who tended to complain weren't really the hard core Zelda fans. It was usually the fair whether fans who just showed up for the new, big entry. That, and people who get obsessed with the idea that Link and Zelda must always be together...which is not and has never been the case.

And people loved Sidon, and the aforementioned pairings. I really do think its just her voice. Which is WAY better in Age of Calamity.

Bit of a side note, but I never bought that link was stupid. In fact, I always felt that because his courage comes so naturally, he always needed to prove he had both wisdom and power in order to be worthy to wield the master sword.

Average height for a Zora Female seems to be about 6 feet tall, based on other Zora. Remember that the game uses cartoon perorations to make a point. A good example is during the questline where you help the Gerudo and the town builder fellow get married. Shes a gerudo, she is at least 7 feet tall. But the guy is as tall as she is.

So yeah I imagine Mipha would end up quite a bit taller than Link, but not hilariously so.

Sephiroth in Smash Bros? WTF.

Gotta love that in a franchise spanning 15 "main line" games, they picked two characters from the same episode. But I guess that it saved them time storyboarding their intro video, since it's basically only iconic FF7/AR shots remade with the smash engine.

As a bonus, Sephiroth is added in Smash before he appears in XIV, which is somewhat impressive considering how many former FF bosses are already in there (Kefka, Exdeath, Cloud of Darkness, Gilgamesh, Ozma, Yojimbo, Calcabrina...).
