God, I grew up watching crappy Boston teams. My childhood was watching my dad scream at the tv watching baseball or football. Can't believe it's been 16 years now since the Red Sox made the greatest comeback in modern sports history. Since then it's been a party almost every year at my folks place because one Boston team or another in some league was doing so well. Especially the Patriots.

From what little I can gather (American football is not my drug) the Pats are reaching the end of an era and might struggle for some time while they rebuild. But the Celtics are very solid so it won't be a wasteland in the city.

I'm grading some of the exams I gave to my students right now, and I must say, there are fewer things more satisfying than seeing a kid you have had for one year and half now, who was not really invested last year and was roughly average-minus, but who now crafts some of the most complete document analyses in her class. She's even better than the kids I routinely give 16+/20 to.

That's the kind of thing that makes a teacher super happy.

Pretty sure I had mild food poisoning. Neck and sinus pain, queasy stomach, napped off and on, weak legs. I do get colds once a year, tops, for about a day, but this had no coughing or nasal drip. Sorta felt like a hangover without the "dirtiness."

On the plus side, whatever it was, my grandma didn't get it, which is a bigger concern with any health issues going around.

It's a sequel in a slightly different genre. More action, less role playing a Japanese teenage Chad. At least from what I've seen, it's clearly not a sequel, though the _story_ is a continuation of P5.

Minnesota Wild beat the LA Kings twice now in the opening of the hockey season. Same way, too. Wild scored early, Kings score 3, Wild tie it up for Overtime, then the Wild scored, winning the game.

Both games had me interested. I usually don't care about sports, but I like hockey. Played it long enough back in school.

Hopefully we do good this season. Minnesota teams seem to have a problem maintaining a winning season.

Very easy to remember, it's an evolved pictograph of a tongue with invisible sides emerging from a mouth.

猫舌 - ねこじた - nekojita - Cat's tongue, idiom, refers to someone who cannot handle high temperature food or drink. Which is me. The "し" becomes "じ" because in compound kanji (じゅくご) the subsequent consonants can change for entirely arbitrary reasons.
悪舌 - あくぜつ - akuzetsu - Bad tongue, gossip.
びんぼうじた - binboujita - A poor, unrefined palate.
ジョウゼツ - jyouzetsu - Loquacity, garrulity, gabby.
