On'na no ko = girl
Otoko no ko = boy
on'na no hito = woman (onna no shto? That's what it sounds like?)

Also 'Masu' is used at the end of a lot of sentences, but I guess the 'u' is not pronounced, so 'mas' is sounded at the end.

"Hito" is pronounced hee-toe. Don't stick the hard T though, there'd be an indicator. Let it roll off your tongue quickly. Might be a regional/casual variance if you're hearing someone say it "shito."

"Masu" is the formal present tense way to conjugate a verb, if I recall right. So "Wakaru," is "(I) understand (present tense)." To be polite, as you should, you use the -masu form, "Wakarimasu." To do past tense, "Wakarimashita." And for fun, negative past tense, "Wakarimasendeshita," is, "(I) did not understand." And yes, you don't pronounce the "u."

Oh, you mean 'America'? Man, Charles Ives did an arrangement called 'Variations on America' I conducted that is absolutely amazing. Written in 1891, but still so avant guard that people either omit certain parts or tweak it so that babies wont cry.

But yeah, the US in the early 19th century had a lack of composers and an abundance of British music. That's why so much of our music is converted British songs. Though I can't understand why Yankee Doodle is so celebrated here. It was a song the British sung to make fun of the colonists.

I'm fairly sure you can use it on a 3.0 with a special cord, if not outright, and it'd just cap performance lower.

Annnd my GPU is pushed back to 2/1. I suspect it will do so again. I did note that some asshole placed an order for 1000 of them yesterday, through the site I'm using, so not hard to guess his game. However, this a queue based site, so it shouldn't be an issue for us honest folks in line. I hope.

I still cannot believe scalpers are possibly moving enough units to make it worth the investment, much less the miners getting a good RoI.

I like the idea they're going for here. Fresh, even, to move from a hulking man, a universal symbol of danger, to sexy fempires and their giant mommy. Really dig into some Oedipal themes in addition to the general horror of what they literally are and doing. I'm glad to see they're still remaining restrained here, going with more or less a new take on the RE4 story, while keeping the first person POV and combat, but going back into the grandiose mansion hallmark. It's not RE without a mansion. Ethan is also a good protagonist, at least for the scary bits of the game, because he's not a badass supercop. My only concern is that while visually this all appears intriguing and pleasant, the writing might not back it up, and it'll be exactly the same as RE4 in terms of plot beats. Which is fine, but with the soft reboot of RE7, and the pathos of the Bakers, it'd be a great time to make these games more thematically rounded.

PCIe is backwards compatible. A PCIe 4.0 GPU can work in a motherboard that has PCIe 3.0. The only downside to this is that the available data bandwidth will be limited by the PCIe 3.0 spec. I'm not sure even a RTX 3090 would really require 4.0 speeds. For consumer products, the PCIe 4.0 spec is more useful for things like PCIe SSDs.

So a 3060ti should work without issue for you.

I hear that. I was intending on using the covid bonus my work provided to get a new card but stock has been so short that I wasn't able to get the card I wanted. I get that a lot of people are building PCs nowadays but it can't be such a boom that this level of stock shortage is natural. And here I though the new gen GPUs were shite at mining, too.

In a spin of luck, I saw there were new listings for the card I wanted on Newegg about an hour ago (the tariffs that bumped up prices meant a lot of cards got re-listed with the old listings taken down). Signed up for auto-alerts. 20 minutes later, get a ping that it's in stock and managed to nab it. Assuming nothing goes wrong, should arrive in a week.

Well, if you're in the US, and can get your hands on a 3060 TI or a 3080, I'm willing to pay MSRP + shipping + small finder's fee. I have a stack of parts about a yard behind me that've been there since before Christmas that I can't do anything with.

But yeah, it's scalping + some breakthrough in Bitcoin mining. All the sites are rife with bots clearing out inventory in milliseconds.

So in the PC vs Console wars; in the end it's worth it to go through the hassle and heartbreak of trying to find and wait for the perfect cards and equipment to build the PC that you'll sit in front of for hours on end in a gamer's chair as opposed to buying one unit of console now and playing in front of a TV on your hopefully favorite, comfortable couch. All so that you'll have a better frame rate?

I assume it's more than that. You have access to more games as well as types, plus the total customization of a PC style playthrough, correct?

In the end is PC a better playing experience, or is it all about personal taste? I still get to play and have access to all the top games on a console without having to invest in the individual hardware components. I just need to make space if I want more games. Plus Microsoft & Sony take care of all the updates so I don't need to go through the hassle. And troubleshooting? I just restart the device. One button.

I see all the agony you guys go through trying to find these parts, so I think it's the idea of the perfect build that excites you the most. But the second you get that card you've always wanted something else comes by and now your perfect system isn't good enough and you go through that agony all over again. Is the cycle worth it?

Well the way I understand it you need to have contact with fluids of the infected person and get it to one of your opening, like mouth, nose, ears or eyes in order to become infected and it will take like 2 weeks before you have symptoms (if you even have any).
