Shadowlands - Mildly interesting swerve
OW2 - I like how they picked the worst of the 4 Widow concept arts. Still, looks like a decent L4D sorta game, though we have that Underhive 40k one coming too.
Diablo 2 - Literally all they have to do is not fuck up the graphics, fix any major bugs, and implement a proper ladder
Burning Crusade Classic - Earlier than I expected. But after seeing how the "optimization" crowd ran wild in Classic, bit tentative. BC was about the apex of the old design and the overly engineered SYSTEMS it became.

I'm currently unsuscribed from WoW (and so far am not planning on returning anytime soon), but since until a few weeks ago I was actively raiding and following the story, I can say that, aside from the Archon getting stabberized, that was the most unsurprising reveal of all time. And they are STILL teasing Undead Female Himmlers redemption arc, which, if they go through with it, will be, I swear on my heart, my permanent unsuscription.

In other news, I can't play FFXIV for more than half an hour before getting terminally bored and quitting. Really quite sad, I guess the MMO grind simply doesn't work for me anymore.

@Sci: As a little boy, learning about monster movies from a lovely encyclopedia of horror at my local library, I was convinced Godzilla would win, hands down. I stand by that position.

@magnus: Yeah, don't care for M+ or raiding, so once I had my fill of story and Torghast, was time to unsub until the second to last content patch or so.

What bothers me the most isn't that swerves, because hey, you need big, dumb, dramatic moments here. But it's how illogical they are. The ability for anyone to walk up to the Archon, say they're actually evil, transform, then jump stab her in the chest, is _silly_. Gotta let these moments breath a bit, dammit. Work up to them. And yeah, Sylvannas is totally getting redeemed, in some form or another.

You can't do that. You can't show have a character gleefully torture, murder, genocide, break the spirits of of good, decent people, murder children on camera (which Blizzard did for the entirety of BfA in their cinematics) and then go "But muh feelings and muh grand plan, redeemed now!" and expect your audience to go along with it. At least the audience who still has a moral core. And, yeah, Blizzard already did that (very abruptly and badly) with Grom Hellscream in WoD, which still pisses me off to no end. But most of Groms genociding, murder and warmongering was kept off-camera and he wasn't a character we had followed and hated for 15 years.

They have shown repeated signs that Sylvanas is a bit conflicted about the latest plan to genocide the universe, but she still goes along with it. And her feeling slightly conflicted does not absolve her in the least about firebombing Teldrassil, having thousands of adults and children die screaming in flames as a result, nor for the many, many, many, many, many, many, many other horrible shit things she did on camera. Blizzard are fucking delusional if they think that they can pull a Kerrigan here, especially since Kerrigan, after getting freed from the control of the Overmind and her indoctrination was mostly a good character who made bad calls to get to her well-intentioned end goal. And, honestly, Starcraft 2 Kerrigan in Heart of the Swarm was badly written, since on one side she clearly had good intentions overall, but then, to try out an upgrade for her Zerg, she randomly murderizes some military outpost on some dirtball planet of the Terran Alliance. They wrote her extremely dissonantly from one mission to another.

Sylvanas plot is, overall, not badly written per se, as goes the plotting, character moments and all that. As the craft of writing goes, Blizzard has vastly improved their capability in that regard. But the story they want to tell doesn't work, because they think that they can get to their goal (Redeem Sylvanas) without her acknowledging, regretting, atoning about anything. She gleefully rants to Anduin how all of this was necessary to "set us all free" and only shows minimal moments of doubt when fully confronted with her horribleness. She's a monster and she does not deserve redemption.

I will not go along with this. If Blizzard redeems her, I will actually sub again for one month just to to tell them in my goodbye message that they've lost me forever with that kind of bullshit.

Honestly, not feeling even the least interested in playing the Diablo 2 remaster. We've done that story, I've played through the game at least four times in the past and, contrary to, say, the Witcher 3 or the Mass Effect trilogy, the story ain't that good to pay more money to play it again.

Diablo IV is more interesting, at the very least to see if they do something about Leah in that game or leave her horrible fate as is.

I am one of those people who would say Ocarina of Time is my favorite Zelda game. It was, after all, the first one I played and I think I relate it a lot to my childhood nostalgia of sharing with friends secrets we discovered because that game had an incredible sense of mystery and adventure. I did a big Zelda marathon in 2019, so I still have a somewhat fresh memory of a lot of them. During said marathon I finally played Majora's Mask for the first time in the 3DS remake, and I recall a lot of people around me saying it was even better than Ocarina, and I could see why they would say so.

I am very fond of Twilight Princess, myself, and I still would call it the definitive Zelda game right behind Ocarina. I liked Breath of the Wild, but I also still consider it enormously overrated.

I don't think I "get" the Zelda franchise.I have played several games, but I never have been irresistibly drawn to the games. I understand why they are called masterpieces - in large part because it is a franchise that is consistently ahead of its time design-wise - but I don't have a strong appeal for it.

The game I played the most was Oracle of Ages, but that was mostly because my best friend at the time had Oracle of Seasons and we played them together.

I think it's because I like my stories and universes to be more prominent. I fell headfirst from the opening scene in The Witcher 3 and barely did anything else with my life until I completed it, while I walked a bit in Breath of the Wild, and then thought "Okay, so what?".

However, unlike other games, I absolutely understand the reverence towards the franchise and why it is so highly considered.

It seems entirely random when having a few drinks hits me extra hard and fucks up my stomach for the next day or not. Same drinks, same amounts, same time frame, roughly the same amount of water and food, and yet. There must be an extra variable I'm not accounting for. Based on the events of very early in the morning, it might be related to eating a very large lunch, then a light dinner, screwing with digestion rate, but I'd think that'd be constant.
