I watched Coming 2 America last night after watching the first film for the first time in...20+ years on a whim a week ago not knowing there was a sequel coming out immediately. It was quite fun and FULL of call back cameos. They pulled out all the stops for it. And Wesley Snipes was amazing.

But I do have to say one thing that I noticed and it's my opinion, after being graced with hearing James Earl Jones speak on screen, having Morgan Freeman follow him up sounded like a random actor they hired and not the vocal icon he's known for. No one can match the power and presence of the fantastic Mr. Jones.

So, in the new Space Jam movie WB has desexualized Lola Bunny, and made her an honorary Themyscira citizen to be "more inspiring to little girls", they've cut out of the film Pepe lePew completely because "they don't want to celebrate rape and sexual herassement" and Elmer Fudd and Josemite Sam won't allowed to wield even a toy gun because "WB is strictly an anti-gun corporation" (lol tell that to all the gun-wielding murderhobos in the DCEU...). I'm also gonna guess Speedy Gonzales won't be anywhere to be seen, but this last one is solely my speculation.

So why are they even making more Looney Toons stuff at all if half of them are not p.c. enough to be themselves... ?

While we wait for GvK, there's also some... interesting rumors about the DCEU. According to a few sources, including youtuber Grace Randolph, who is a bit on the woke side of things but has proven to have some reliable sources in the past, if the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie is well received, DC/Warner might put in the works a couple sequels of the thing, and even have Snyder overseeying really close the next Wonder Woman movie, like he did with the first.

I'm... kinda baffled, but also laughing my ass off. If this happens we're gonna get years worth of memes and of twitter-twats meltdowns because Warner dared to listen to "dem toxic fans".

I'm still not gonna LIKE the movies themselves, BvS almost broke even worse than stuff like After Earth or Prometheus did, but the stuff surrounding the DCEU at this point is more entertaining than the films lol

FWIH Speedy is fine because Mexican people had to loudly explain that he was a positive symbol for Mexicans.

Speaking about Pepe le Pew, in France we heard about it because of the cancellation, we have nothing to do with it. It's a bit eyeroll-worthy that the one French cliché is a serial harasser, but considering it was created almost a century ago, well...

(Also I don't remember when Pepe le Pew was "celebrated", he was almost always getting his comeuppance, but hey)

On another note - started watching Borgen and it looks bloody brilliant. After Baron Noir, it's the second excellent political show I know of. I might give House of Cards UK a try down the line - the US version was nonsensical and overplayed to the point of being uninteresting. I heard good things about The West Wing and Veep too, but I might be a bit done with U.S. Politics at the moment, I might wait for a couple more months of Biden quiet before I give it a look.

(And it has the guy who plays Euron in GOT in a not-skull-splittingly-dumb role this time)

Didn't even think about it. I know how much people online like to be offended on behalf of other countries and cultures. I'm sure someone will eventually go after Mario and Luigi because thei're negative italian stereotypes that I'm supposed to be mad about.

Warner Media has lifted the embargo on the Snyder Cut of Justice League slightly earlier than expected, and apparently the response is for the most part positive.

Journalists all over the web are already in full damage control mode, either backing down on how "Letting Snyder realize his vision" was the right call after all, or writing hit-pieces about the dangers of listening to fandoms and other loud toxic minorities. Even tho all they DO is advocating for the point of view of loud, toxic minorities... but hey it's okay when the Blue Checkmarks act nasty, I guess.
