Alright, finished my Ma Teng campaign. In the end it was Ma Chang, his son, who came to be the new emperor, with his wife Sun Ren. Once I managed to capture the former capital of Liu Bei and declare myself to be emperor, Cao Ren, Cao Cao's son, surrendered immediately and afterwards it was a matter of only five more rounds to capture the other capital of the last emperor pretender. 196 turns, 39 year in-game. 26 battles fought personally, the rest of the 135 battles in total by auto-resolve. I hate doing sieges with cavalry, my next game will very much be focused on infantry, missiles and artillery. I'll have to see whom I want to play next, or maybe do another round of Crusader Kings 3 instead, where a new DLC has just relased.

Is there a Realm Divide event when you make the claim to the throne? Or is it an immediate victory trigger?
That was one of the few effective ways of stopping the late game snowball. Have screenshots still of strong armies in a garrison being worn down by the sheer number of stacks all the other clans combined could throw at me. Still entirely winnable, but it _felt_ good.

Basically, when you reach a certain level of power you can rank up a final time (you start with Marquis, then Second Marquis, then Duke, then King). Ranking up grants you several advantages (more administrators, more assignments, more armies, more trade agreements, more spies... you can choose which), so you want to do it as soon as possible, except the last stage to king.
When you rank up to king, you either declare yourself emperor and two other realms do the same at the same time. Or, if you are an imperial governor, you simply reach the rank of king and three other realms declare themselves, your realm stays as a duchy. If you want to win the game as an imperial governor, you need to capture an imperial capital of one of the other emperors and then the ones of the other two remaining realms.
You can delay taking the last step, which I did to build up my treasury to be able to afford a sustained war. But it still was pretty damn challenging, because, as I said, Cao Cao almost immediately confederated Liu Bei and I had to go to the other side of the map to get the first imperial capital to declare my own kingdom. Also, when the other factions declare their own kingdoms, they immediately unlock access to some elite units, which Cao Cao did throw at me with abandon. Which is where my "cavalry only" build started to fail, because elite glaive units with abnormally high armor and morale are difficult to break, even if you rear-charge them with abandon.
Anyway, I'll do a second game in Three Kingdoms when the mods update. The most annoying thing in the game at the moment are the generic general portraits, which slowly replace the unique generals you start out with. There are some mods (Make the Unique and Puzzle Illustration) which help with that problem, but they haven't updated to the latest build yet, so waiting until at least then.

They say "Those who fail to plan, plan to fail". So with that in mind do any of you plan your days out? Like schedule everything you want to do and map it all out so it makes sense and allows you to do everything in a reasonable amount of time? As opposed to just doing whatever whenever you feel like it?
I want to do an experiment where for a set period of time I live exactly to a schedule. I start with a list of things I want to/need to do then schedule my day around them. Then at the end I'll write down what was successful or not and see if at the end of that time period I feel fulfilled. I feel the biggest thing to keep in mind is being flexible and not rigid. Allowing myself a buffer time in between things and being open to move things around in my day.
Does anyone have any experience living like that? Things they've tried but failed, learned or discovered about themselves?
I feel like this would be no different than someone saying they'll go to the gym everyday after the New Year, but a huge percentage of those people eventually fail. That's why I'm planning on a set period of time like two weeks, so that it's still a new thing and I don't drop it cold turkey one day.

Tekken 7 (Bandai Namco Entertainment)
More games to be announced soon

Oh, no, hell no. I couldn't possibly keep to it. I'm trying to add _any_ structure to my day working from the other end, with a very low bar weekly schedule, and even then, I find myself trying to finish it out at the end of the week. For that kind for rigid schedule, it would have to be imposed on me, with force, and constant attention, because it run contrary to my laissez faire life.
That said, when something does matter to me and is time-sensitive, that gets done with the utmost seriousness. Also; Social events not schedule more than a day in advance, can't stand it.

I love the laissez fair life, but I find that creating new habits is hard because its easy to stay in a certain 'come as they may' lifestyle. I started learning a new piano piece two weeks ago and if I give it a go for 30 minutes a day I'll get the whole piece memorized in only a few weeks. But I'm also learning Japanese and sometimes I'll go 5 days or more without a proper lesson. In fact, I was gifted Rosetta Stone for my birthday over 2 months ago, started lessons THAT NIGHT and in my lesson plan currently I've only just completed week 2, and there are five days in a Rosetta week. There's also other things, chores that must get done, emails and other music learning to do, organizing, etc. My gym opened up this week and I HAVE TO GO!!! I'm 38 and I want to actually look good for once in my life and I'll only get it done if it's a dedicated part of my day.
Once I figure out how much I need to get done in a day I'll find ways to either speed things up or be more efficient in those things to accomplish more, or find ways that I'm wasting my time. For instance, I started writing a new piece of music that really I should have completely finished by now, but I'm taking my goddamn time with it.
Plus filling up my day fits with my new philosophy of ditching the idea of searching for 'happiness' and replacing it with searching for 'fulfillment'. Getting things done makes me feel good and the opposite makes me feel like crap. But I can't rely on myself without any structure to guide me, for instance a list, or I just loaf on the couch, stuffing my face. Having a lot to do just makes me feel good thinking about it.
So in my grand scheme I'll make a list of daily and weekly things I want to do and how long they need to get done. Work, gym, lessons, music studio work, reading, hobbies, food I want to cook, etc. Then I'll make a list of stuff that I want to limit or avoid, youtube video of binge watching if it's not something I'm multitasking. Then I'll make sure to start my day at 6am and go to sleep by 10ish, adjusting for when I want to stay up to see my brother. I'll do that for two weeks and see where I end up.

Well, same here. Forcing myself to do things I know I enjoy is probably a symptom of other issues, granted, but having anything accomplished more than "faffed on the internet, played video games," is vital some days. I'm not getting any younger either. Started jogging, to great pain and disgust at my own lack of stamina. Reading far more than I have. Cooking less than previous years, need to work on that. But once the ennui gets you, it's so damn hard to compel yourself to not let it drown you. Strict time management isn't my style, I know that well from my innate repulsion to schooling, so I sort of leverage myself own habits against myself to be productive. Which is a funny way of living, but kind of effective. Really puts the question of what the fuck our minds "are," when I can be aware of my various levels of decision making, and at the highest level, try to game the lower levels to produce an outcome the higher level fails to force.
The idea of "happiness" as presented has soured on me. It seems intrinsically tied to materialism, or proving economic worth, or otherwise a narrow range of human experience. Yes, making a grand in a day would feel amazing, but how long could that possibly last? What would I have to do to keep up that kind of earning? I suspect it would be less fulfilling than getting out of bed at a reasonable hour, reading a few chapters of a nice book, cooking 3 proper meals, exercising, painting a mini, and calling a family member I haven't spoken to in a while. It does not advance my life a bit towards an economically better state, but I can't believe that's a healthy primary goal either.
But yes, sounds like we're on similar paths. Yours is more structured. If you have family/friends who can impose on you to stick to it, I'd highly recommend it. Social obligation is a great bit of extra prodding.

I just got back from a Spring Break camping trip with my sister's family and we had a good time. We went to Quartz Mountain in Oklahoma and Caprock Canyon and Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle. Caprock Canyon in particular surprised me. I had never even heard of it but it's one of the prettiest desert areas I've been to outside of Arizona. The rocks are all bright rust red which made for some pretty awesome scenery. They also had wild bison there and I didn't know there were any left in Texas so that was a pleasant surprise.

Never had the chance to do some proper "grand views" camping, but I did a fair bit with my father as a yoot. Miss it quite a bit. Also the first time I learned about alcohol poisoning. Was newly 21, tried to match my father and uncle drink for drink, which I did, and I learned quite a bit the next day. Despite the memory loss, still recall when we walked to the beach that night, pointing at the stars, to (slur) that ever since man first looked up there, we've dreamed of alien babes to bang. Good times.
I should go camping again. Were the bison original stock, or reseeded?

Original. Descendants of some stock that were preserved by a famous rancher/explorer guy in the 1800s, Charles Goodnight. (According to legend anyway).
We've been trying to go to Big Bend for 3 years in a row but various things keep making us have to cancel. This was a last minute backup trip planned over like the course of 2 weeks and for that it was a pretty good one.

My cousin enrolled me on No Man's Sky, and the experience is proving way better than I expected - I only heard of the disaster at release.
It's quite relaxing really, just visit planets, mine stuff, build bases, some dogfights, basically no penalty for death...cool experience. Perfect to kill time during a lockdown.

NMS has been steadily improving for years at this point. Doesn't justify the botched release and the overhype before it, but the developers owned their screw-up and at this point it's a pretty good game indeed. I haven't played it myself yet, but it's in my Steam library, and I'm glad I eventually tossed a few dollars for it in the studio's direction.

Fantastic. It'd be lovely to see native megafauna roaming again. And then staying the hell away because we killed (some) of them for reasons.

Well, whenever you can get out there, looks like the world's greatest lazy river ride.

Jeez, when did you order that?
I got lucky with the new GPU's as I ordered a full new system the day after the new GPU's went up for a pre-order, it was delayed obviously but then I was offered a FTW3 Ultra which I took. It did die 2 weeks later but I got a replacement.

Uh...it was literally the day after the 3060 TIs came out, when they were actually available for an hour window. I was waffling on whether I should get a new rig or not, but with how poorly mine's been running lately, and being 8 years old, decided to pull the trigger riiiiight at the wrong time.
On the plus side, got enough money to aim for a 3080 now, but _nobody has them_. It's literally cheaper to buy full prebuilts and scavenge the cards at this point.

The Rio unfortunately is an international border so you have to have a passport to raft on it. Mine expired a while back and the process of renewing it is annoying enough that I don't know that's it's worth it just for that.

Tell me about it.
I am still waiting for my money to come back from courts system and even I am starting to think that when I get my money back I may as well just scavenge from a prebuilt rig, even if that may still be months away!

Feel like a bit of rube, myself. Have a stack of parts with a layer of dust on them now, right behind me. Too late to return, otherwise I'd just buy a rebuilt and pay the couple hundred dollar premium.

That's probably true if you just picked some part of the river at random but if you want to do the official guided stuff in the park the American side park people make you show a passport.

I've been playing Persona 5 Strikers the last few days and while the writing is surprisingly good for what it is, the gameplay is...adequate at best.

Is it better than the base game's writing? Because the sheer amount of padding was painful at times.

Gears 5 is hooking you in? Gosh. When I saw the reveal, I was dubious as could be. Should play 1-3 again sometime, I quite enjoyed the marathon I did years ago.

Which ones you got? But if you can get your hands on any 3080, PM me, and we'll work a deal out. I'd be extremely appreciative.

I have contacts. I don't think I can get the 3090 Strix Gundam Edition, but anything else is on the table.
