Godzilla wins the final battle in Hong Kong. Outright, and unambiguously. Kong is knocked out cold, although after putting up a very good fight. The only reason Goji doesn't deliver the finishing blow is because Mecha-Godzilla arrives on the scene.

The Kong-kind were alot smarted than they look, apparently the axe is like in some kind of kaiju-size fortess/castle. Think something like the village from Planet of the Apes.

APEX has been hunting and killing some of the KotM titans. Rodan is still out there, but Methuselah and the MUTO Queen are dead.

Mecha-Godzilla looks alot better in motion and is absolutely vicious. He's not much in the movie, gut he does leave an impression. Godzilla and Kong's rivalry dwarves everything we've seen before. Not even Ghidorah got Big G so mad as he is in this film.

The Iwi are dead, but Skull Island still exist. Apparently one of the massive storms surrounding the island ended up hitting their village and whiped it off the map.

I think I'm the only person on this board who has always been a staunch defender of Zack Snyder. His 4-hour movie dropped at midnight on the dot at March 18th, and I told myself I would watch the first part because I was one of those rallying voices asking for his cut. I ended up watching all four hours of it in one sitting. Then I watched it again the following day with others. I adore it.

I consider this one of the most important movies to ever be made; even if you personally dislike it, and there is nothing wrong with that, the odyssey it went through just to see the light of day justifies my reasoning. Even if you completely scrubbed Zack Snyder's name from this movie, it is undeniably his when you watch it. It has all of his DNA, and you couldn't mistake it for anyone else, and I mean this in the best way.

His movies do not have mass-market appeal, and I have made my peace with that after Dawn of Justice was released. He aims to make his movies with a distinct flair that not everyone will care for, and his very own Justice League is all of his and cranked up to 11. I am a fan, and this delivered everything I wanted both from a Justice League film, and a film with Zack's name on it. His passion, even if you consider it misguided, is evident in every minute of this film, and everyone onboard with him that made this movie poured their hearts into it. I can't say this movie is without fault, but because of all of this soulful filmmaking I can forgive a lot.

I am so relieved to see how much vindication Zack has been receiving ever since this was announced, and all of the affirmation now that it's here. I consider this an important movie because this was a movie made with tremendous passion and risk, and I feel we need more movies made with both of those elements. We need more movies where a director and his team is allowed to give everything without such a daunting leash around them.

Zack Snyder's Justice League, I believe, gave everyone what they needed. It gave him that second chance, it gave the devoted fans the epic they hoped for, it gave the people who don't like his movies the biggest and loudest seal of 'not for me', and it gave the industry a reminder on what an uncut and unchained movie can deliver.

I never hated the 2017 version, I tolerated it on the best days. I rewatched it before I saw the Snyder Cut, and in hindsight Zack's movie utterly shames Whedon's. Everything in the 2017 version is toothless and turned into a fucking joke compared to what we were originally meant to be given. Cyborg, Flash, and Steppenwolf were the biggest casualties. Batman was a shell of what he used to be. More than half of the movie looked cheap and lazy. It boggles the mind on what the executives were thinking when they demanded a shorter runtime with more jokes and less seriousness.

One of the worst cases of this disparity between Zack's vision and the studio's backwards thinking was the climax in Russia. In Snyder's movie, Steppenwolf actually wins. The Mother Boxes merge, the Unity is complete, and Cyborg looks up in horror before everything in the blink of an eye is vaporized. Flash survives only because he phases through the world-ending pulse because Speed Force shenanigans. In that scene Flash blitzes as fast as he can, going beyond his limit and you see him running through space into the star that is the Mother Box Unity. The Earth itself literally reforms beneath his feet as he reverses time to undo the end of the world and ends up saving the day.

In Whedon's cut, Flash pushes a pick-up truck with the random Russian villagers that were nowhere to be scene in Snyder's. Flash doesn't even get his moment here, either. Superman flies right by holding a building filled with people and further dooming Flash into the mediocrity he suffered in the 2017 version.

Someone actually thought that replacing the latter scene with the former was the right call. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were wasted on a scene that we almost didn't get. Hundreds of thousands of dollars more were wasted on the reshoot that only dug a deeper grave for DC's cinematic platform.

Anyway, it's difficult to get into further detail without going on and on and on about how much this movie meant to me and many, many others. I think it's worth a watch even if you don't like Zack's work, because it might surprise you.

I hated BvS. Like, it's in my top 3 worst movie theatre experiences, and to give you an idea, not even Star Wars Last Jedi made me want to walk out of the theatre. I think Snyder can be a great director, but that he ended up working on a lot of projects not suited for him. I would love to see him working on a Warhammer40k movie, given his style and sensibility, or with something equally grimdark and epic in tone. But trying to turn the Justice League into that made him look like an angsty edgelord, as far as I'm concerned. I still respect his passion and the fact he took the heat without starting to make up cospiracy theories about online hategroups targeting him and the likes... unlike the people working on the previously mentioned Last Jedi who are still to this day harping about such idiocies.

So yeah... I am glad that he got to see his original vision for the JLA movie through and that people got to see it too. But I'm not going to act like it's something I'm into, or I was ever into. If you want to see an interconnected DC Universe on screen, that hits the right balance of humorous and serious moments, does the characters justice and isn't drowned into seppia tones, I'd still recommend the Bruce Timm animated stuff first and foremost. Except maybe those couple movies where he insisted in having Batman and Batgirl banging. But there's so many iterations of these characters at this point that I understand that my favorite version is never gonna be "the definitive" version.

Also I really doubt Snyder's gonna get to make any more of this. WB is obviously done with the actor playing Cyborg, wheter his accusations had ground to stand on or not, there's the... uuuugh... Superman movie by JJ Abrams and his Bad Robot chronies in the works and Lord only knows what's going on with The Batman and the Flashpoint movie. I just don't see WB and AT&T giving up on any of those projects, since they must have put a fair amount of money into all of them already, just to give Snyder the chance to make other 2-3 movies to see his whole story trhough to the end.

I am pretty sure a straight up dramatic and/or serious WH40K movie would be an absolute disaster. Snyder's 300 worked because it is a story with absolutely zero depth, it's WYSIWYG in cinematic form. Watchmen worked because he (incredibly) included more humor and distance in it than in BvS.

The perfect WH40K directors would be either Paul Verhoeven or George Miller for me. They know how to film action, they know how to be serious, but they also know how to convey that "there are serious stakes in this movie" and "...but it's not a universe you should take too seriously".

Plus they are the best directors when it comes to adding a subtext without it being detrimental or in-your-face.

Depends. I mean, 40k is basically Dune and Starship Troopers tossed in a blender and roided up. And we have both a Dune movie done absolutely seriously (soon two) and a Starship Troopers movie done in Verhooven style that to this day is one of my favorite dumb fun flicks to watch. And there's so many things going on in terms of stories and factions in 40k you could easily find the right match for whoever is making the movie. You could absolutely do a "300 in space" in pure Snyder style, or an ironic subversion ala Verhooven centeres around someone like Ciaphas Kane for example.

All I'm gonna say is, rewatch the first few minutes of Man of Steel, with Zod going around in that uber-bulky armor and yelling to his men to "destroy the heretic!" and tell me it doesn't give you deja-vu.

Rumors/leaks about the next Transformers live action movie:

The title "Beast Alliance" is only a working title, it is NOT a Beast Wars movie, but a sequel to the BB flick.

The main cast is the same we see at the beginning of the BB movie, both on the Autobot and Decepticon side. So basically the core Season1 G1 cast, plus Arcee and minus Megatron who's still MIA.

Design phylosophy is still similar to the BB movie as well. So more colorful and recognizable as the cartoon characters, although a bit bulkier and more thought looking. Prime and BB still mostly look like in the last movie, Soundwave's head has a more clean and recognizable design and he turns into a bulky car/van thing like in TF_Animated or RiD2015.

There's gonna be at least one or two more major scenes set on Cybertron.

The whole thing is gonna be an heist movie, involving the retreival of some kind of artifact the Transformers can use to make Energon and comfortably survive on Earth. The thing is guarded by Cheetor, who's gonna be the only BW character in the movie.
