Got to see the My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission movie. A ton of fun. I liked the previous film better, but this one is still very enjoyable. Fantastic animation, great music, amazing action, excellent character moments, the whole nine yards. A must see if you're a MHA fan.

This movie is very hard focused on Deku, Shoto, and Bakugo, so you're not going to see much of the rest of the cast, though they all show up briefly. It takes place while Deku, Shoto, and Bakugo are still training under Endeavor as part of their Work Study from season 5.

We get to see lots of new Pro Heroes, including a 2-D Egyptian Pharaoh man that my audience really seemed to love.

The main villain here is kinda similar to Overhaul in terms of goals, but is coming at it from a very different angle, plays up the creepy cult vibe more, has a world-wide network to give him more resources and manpower to back up his organization, and has a lot of self-loathing projected outwards that shapes his personality and worldview. He's got a lot of cool underlings with neat powers to back him up, too.

This movie explores a bit more of the idea of how having a Quirk can help shape a person's development and perspective for better or for worse, as obviously some Quirks can dramatically alter how you live your life and interact with others and many Quirks are not without their downsides and struggles. It also reinforces the idea that just because you have a Quirk that seems weak, useless, burdensome or embarrassing, doesn't mean you can't be a hero; what's more important is not giving up and always trying.

So Young Justice is finally giving some plot focus on Cassandra and Lady Shiva. Cool. Love both characters, and their family dynamic is ripe for some juicy story material and narrative conflict. But they're already doing some things I'm not liking. For starters, Shiva cut out Cass' vocal cords so she's literally incapable of talking, apparently thinking it would maker her a better living weapon if she was deprived of a voice and couldn't speak. Shiva, even at her nicest and least villainous would still make for a ruthless as fuck mother, but that's out-of-character as far as I'm concerned. Not even her father David Cain in the comics did that.
