Looks like the bad blood between Legendary and WB resulted in it going to AppleTV+ instead of HBO Max.

“A live-action “Godzilla” spinoff TV series is coming to Apple TV+. According to Apple’s description, the untitled series appears to take place after the events of 2014’s “Godzilla,” which kicked off the current iteration of Legendary’s “Monsterverse.” That film was followed by “Kong: Skull Island,” “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and last year’s crossover film, “Godzilla vs. Kong.” The new project has a series order from Apple. Here is the logline: “Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.” The untitled series will be produced by Legendary Television and executive produced by co-creators Chris Black, who will also serve as showrunner, and “Hawkeye” writer Matt Fraction. Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Toho Co. Ltd will also executive produce. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will executive produce for Toho. Toho is the owner of the Godzilla character and has licensed the rights to Legendary for this series as a natural byproduct of their long-term relationship on the film franchise. All of the prior films were distributed by Warner Bros. and are available on rival streaming service HBO Max. “Godzilla vs Kong” was among the films that Warner Bros. released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max.The films have grossed more than $2 billion at the box office globally. Along with those movies, Netflix has anime series “Skull Island” upcoming.”



Godzilla staying in the MV confirmed. If Toho's willing to share their toys for a tv show, they'd certainly share for future films.

Pack your bags with grains of salt because the rumor train for this Monsteverse series is already leaving station; here's the rundown:

► Show Spoiler

-the first season will be 10 episodes
-episodes are aiming to be around 40 to 50 minutes long
-conversations have begun with potential directors
-Toho is helping with producing and is very supportive of this project
-this series is meant to build up the Monsterverse more and lay seeds for the future over the next few years
-main characters are 2-3 Monarch scientists, plus a family consisting of a father, a mother, and a kid
-show will really explore the aftermath of Godzilla's battle with the Mutos, the whole world suddenly realizing they share the planet with giant monsters
-Monarch will get explored and fleshed out more, and not everyone involved with Monarch is a good person, with many conflicting agendas
-besides Godzilla, other Titans will feature; brand new monsters will be introduced, and there's a possibility they might also bring in some Toho kaiju as well
-while KOTM established that the world hadn't seen Godzilla in 5 years since his last appearance and he couldn't be found, the line "Unless you know where to look" allows them to have Godzilla show up without throwing out the continuity; Godzilla did make landfall in that 5 year gap but it was far away from population zones and only Monarch was aware of these incidents
-more information on the Skull Island animated series for Netflix and the next Monsterverse film are "coming soon"

Reminds me of that unused concept design from Alien 3 in regards to the more human and feminine mouth/lips. Not a fan of that look. This robs the creature of some of its bestial savagery and inhuman otherness. Its not adding to the cool factor or creepy menace or even the "psycho-sexual" undertones, its actually diminishing it in my opinion. With lips like that, you'll only inspire more Rule 34 NSFW fan artists; you won't be inspiring fear.

Man, I want to be excited for this series, but nothing in recent memory has given me any reason whatsoever to keep the faith. Everything we've gotten has been crap. (Besides Alien Isolation from 2014, the one positive thing in this all this wasted potential.) None of the recent comics or novels have been any good, and the two Alien movie prequels we got are such shit just thinking of them puts me in a foul mood. And the one chance we had to try to get an Alien film off the ground that ignored Alien 3 for one last hurrah from Ripley, Newt and Hicks was destroyed by Ridley Scott himself. (Not saying that film was guaranteed to be good, just that we'll never get a chance to find out because Scott is a control freak now that he's got his fingers on the Alien again and possessively refuses to share and couldn't handle something that didn't cater to his fetish for androids and faux-symbolism, all the while revealing in interviews that he now fundamentally misunderstands the Alien itself and keeps saying its burned out and lost its appeal when its him and his vision thats wrecking things.)

--while no title yet, its being called "Hourglass" for now (like how KOTM and GvK were referred to as "Fathoms" and "Apex" during their production) most likely in reference to the Monarch logo looking like an hourglass on its side
--filming is set to begin in May and will end in November
--filming locations include Tokyo, Hawaii and Vancouver
--casting is happening right now
--Ken Watanabe been contacted to see if he'd be willing to return to the role of Dr. Serizawa
--Budget is said to be similar to the money Netflix spent on season 3 of Stranger Things, which according to Variety was $6-8 million per episode

Within a few episodes of ending TNG. The grand prize for most terrible episode (all the last few are good or decent if memory serves) goes to:

Beverly Crusher's ancient grandma dies, she reads her ancient grandma's erotic journals and then gossips about it (because that's a thing anyone would do), then falls in love with the same incubus alien but somehow still Scottish ghost that's been haunting the women of her family for 700 years, complete with lots of awkward scenes of her having to ape debilitating arousal while nothing is actually happening to her

I think I will try Deep Space Nine but I have tried it several times before and never got past Season 1 and I've been marinating in Star Trek for nearly 3 weeks. We'll see.

I'm... split on this one...

So first of all... fuck whoever decided to not use the game's music and went for generic trailer thumping. I'm so tired of that crap.

Second... Cortana kinda look like ass. Couldn't they at least give her a blue wig... ? And we're not doing the Fall of Reach, but sending Master Chief (and a made up new team of Spartans) looking for JJ-style macguffins to locate the first Halo? And there's some kind of female super-soldier working with the Covenant... ?

Like, even if it works out... it's going to look really different from its source material...

Started DS9. I'm only a few episodes in. Nothing is actively bad so far but it's also fairly boring.

DS9 does take a while to get going. It is an issue the show has, and I say that as someone who loves DS9. But if it helps, it's more than worth sticking around until it hits it's stride; your patience will be rewarded tenfold.

I've only seen the 3 most recent Star Trek movies. I've thought of watching the others but I've been hesitant to watch the TNG ones because I've heard they ruin Data who is among my favorite characters.

The only TNG movie that I like and would recommend is First Contact. Generations and Insurrection and Nemesis are plagued with way too many problems, missed opportunities, plot contrivances, poor execution, metaphors that unravel when you stop and think about them, and the like. Nemesis in particular is especially bitter because it could have easily have been a great movie, it has all the elements to be, and with some relatively minor adjustments and tweaks could have been fixed and elevated to excellent heights, but alas. Nemesis has its moments of brilliance, but it's too weighted down with its numerous issues.

And out of the OG Trek movies, Wrath of Khan is obviously the best and a must see for any Trek fan, or any sci-fi fan in general. Don't like any of the others myself except for Search for Spock; I know I might be in the minority on this one, but I honestly think Search for Spock is under-appreciated and better than a lot of people give it credit for.

I finished Season 1 and it has gotten better. It's gone from "inoffensive but boring" to "consistently fairly interesting." There really haven't been any high points to speak of yet. One issue might be that most of the characters other than Quark and Odo are more low key than TNG characters and take multiple, multiple, multiple episodes for you to start noting their personalities. Pretty much all of them are starting to have flesh on their bones though I'm still waiting for Ben Sisko to develop something besides "standard issue Starfleet officer #456809 who likes baseball."

Quark is leaps and bounds the most entertaining aspect so far. Dax seems like she might have potential but they have done nothing with her yet.

It at least beats Season 1 of TNG in that there were no acutely bad episodes and TNG has several real stinkers in the first season.

To Be Fair, the way Cortana looks isn't too bad, she's just not blue. If she were blue I doubt people'd care TOO much.
The plot stuff is odd.
I just wonder if this show is set in a different canon to the games because as far as I know pretty much everything has changed other than Master Chief, Cortana, Hallsey and the Covenant existing (but they seem to have other things involved too so maybe I'll class that as just the Elites)
And seeing as we know that the books are kind of canon then all of this is either undoing all of that or just moving to alternate universe territory.
I mean, I looked on the IMDB page and Miranda Keyes is a Doctor (whether medical or science I don't know) instead of a Commander in the UNSC.



Also they made Master Chief shorter...

Disney really promoting Mando season 3 and the upcoming Ahsoka show with this and last weeks episode. Last time had the return of Din Djarin and we saw what was left of his tribe, plus a flashback to the Empire laying waste to their world and a new quest for him to undertake, and now we have Luke, Ahsoka, Grogu, Cobb Vanth, R2D2, and even Cad Bane making appearances.

So Luke and Ahsoka did in fact meet.

Flashbacks to Order 66 and the attack on the Jedi Temple.

Cad Bane is still alive and has been hired by the Pyke Syndicate, so it looks like we'll get a Fett vs Bane showdown soon.

Something looked off with Cad Bane's mouth. They should have gone the full CG route so the entire head could have been done right.
It's not bad looking, looks like a AAA++++ cosplay, but it still looks lightly off.

I like how they left Grogu's answer unknown for now.
