Well thankfully I talked to my manager and he's looking into it.
Those days are still unpaid but I am not likely to get written up for them

But if I am still testing negative I will have to go to work this weekend.
Which is both good news and bad news because I won't be able to focus with dad being home on his own while I am at work. His symptoms are almost all gone but he's still testing as positive so far, so I have no clue if he's actually still infectious or not. I don't want to turn up at home, touch a surface and then get a random need to scratch my eye or something and get covid in the most stupid of ways.

But then again I am also being paranoid and I am calling the doctor tomorrow to get some help with that and see if I actually have depression or not.

Shit, man, I'd be asking for a _sedative_. Something to mellow you out for a week. Even a benzo would be good, since it's a short period. Happiest I've ever felt while lucid was with a week's worth of low-dose Klonopin.

Yeah, I kinda want to still be lucid so i can do shit.
I did call the doctors about mental health stuff, waiting on a call back at the moment.
After dad's no longer infectious I can then start getting myself better.
I'm making him do the full 10 days of isolation, just in case.

EDIT: Okay so my Doctors are prescribing me a month's worth of anti-anxiety medicine to see if that helps.
And my appointment/assessment with a local metal health support group is scheduled for the 24th of this month.

It was 50+ F out today, sunny, so I took a decent walk down to the memorial park in town. Lots of different monuments to the men who died in the various wars, WW1 to Iraq, and there were old blocks that were too weathered to read that might've been Civil or even Revolutionary. Then midway back got struck with that same nausea I had 2 weeks ago. Managed to hold myself together until I was inside, but the last 8-ish hours have been spent in the hydrate + crackers -> purge bile cycle. What is cause for concern is that I was on an empty stomach, all I'd had was a cup of coffee a few hours earlier and some water.

@magnus: Knock on wood, old timer!

@Mazder: That too. I was mildly concerned I spread it to family, since they all caught it in the same time period, and all live apart. But I couldn't have possibly contracted it in the window before I visited them, and their own timelines didn't line up. But with how ridiculously contagious omicron has been, I doubt it'd even be possible to guess at where he got it from.

I have been wondering how dad caught it myself. Because he doesn't go out to too may places and see too many people. The most is shopping and that's always a crapshoot.
Like, I see at least 100 people a day at work, the UK has no real mask mandate at the moment but I'd say about half still mask up. I myself can't because of my chronic asthma so I am basically unmasked. So I could literally pick it up every week and never know, potentially.

And because of how ridiculously contagious Omicron is I have been worried and paranoid from wednesday if dad is still contagious after his 10 days isolation are up.
Because even if the worst is a bad cold I still very much don't want it.

Tomorrow is going to be hard...

Our CDC says 4 days for omicron transmission, I think, and 10 days as the absolute upper limit. Should be fine. Though I'm surprised you haven't had an anti-body test done.

Well mainly because you can only get those over here if you're doing a PCR test instead of a lateral flow test.
And seeing as dad is almost all tested out in terms of his mental health asking him to do another PCR test after 10 days is difficult. I mean he accidentally did the back-up PCR test I got for him on Friday but by now it's voided because I couldn't get out and post it.

It's something to consider anyway, I'll bring it up with him.

EDIT: Oh I just checked, he can't do it because he's on minor blood thinners.

hi guys just wanted to pop in for a post.

me and my family are recovering, grandparents were hit the worst, grandfather is still at the hospital and grandmother can barely go to the bathroom, uncle is already back at work, as for me well I am getting there little by little.

terrible sickness, still the thoughts of your well wishes kept me going through the worst of it so you know thanks guys.

Hopefully in a few days I should be somewhat back to normal and back here.

yeah, grandfather is hit the hardest won't be coming home until he is cured, grandmother isn't that much better then him, but well they already had health issues before all this so it is to be expected.

also found out how we got infected turns out there was a guy at my uncles work who had covid but didn't tell anyone until way after we got infected everyone is pissed at that guy even his own family as they had like us managed to stay clear until that jackass got infected.

at least I should be in the clear in a few days.

It's one thing to be a little reckless and not take precautions, it's another to _knowingly_ be sick, still go around people, and not tell them. That's indefensible. Dumb bastard. But glad he didn't kill anyone, and everyone's over the worst.
