Depends on how much character and growth she gets/has, because Rey don't have much character or growth during two movies.

But I wouldn't be to worried Kevin has been over all pretty good at leading the MCU, since he actually cares about the movies that gets created which more then you can say about the current leader of Star Wars right now.

So, Sony will get MCU made successful Spider-Man...until they will fuck it all up in year or two, just like they had done in the past.

They keep saying the Marvel-Netflix characters will return in "future projects" tho. I'm gonna guess they'll get to show up in the MCU shows going on Disney+ or whatever is called. Which is both good and bad, because we might get a chance to see them interacting with some of the big guns of the MCU at last, but we can likely forget about the more violent and "grown-up" tone of the Netflix stuff.

First Luke Cage and now Daredevil? Yeah, it's pretty obvious these shows are preparing for new Disney owned streaming service. So, I wouldn't call it so much as cancellation as postponement at this point.

Though I wouldn't be too worried about more violent and "grown-up" parts. Disney would be fool to not realize that they had to change with streaming services in mind. They also need something more adult oriented, if they want to succeed. Not to mention the fact that streaming services makes it pretty easy to separate adult content. Netflix has this feature that does exactly that.

Annoying news of the day.

Thanks to some leaked merchandise photos, it has been confirmed that the character played by Jude Law in the Captain Marvel movie is not Mar-Vell, but in fact one of the bad guys.

Why is that annoying? Because Jude Law was the only major actor in the cast whose role was unknow, meaning now we know for sure that the original Captain Marvel isn't in the movie, nor in the MCU, and that they rewrote the female Captain Marvel's story even more than what many suspected already, to make her the only one to ever have the name and the role. Because HERo, I guess. And if you think that's a bad pun, I'll remind you that's in the fucking trailer of the movie.

Well, I think we all know that even MCU will fuck it up eventually. So, they might go out with something trendy while they're at it. Of course I don't hope that, but the sad fact is that what goes up, must come down too.

In any case, I hope Captain Marvel won't have so huge impact that it would ruin the experience of Avengers 4. As if it Marvel' role is about the same as Black Panther in Infinity war, then it won't matter, if Marvel movie ends up being good or bad. Our decades old journey is done and we're safe.

I'm not really shedding any tears over Luke Cage which was boring as fuck. Daredevil is okayish. Frankly, none of the Netflix shows were *amazing.* The only one that rose above the level of "I guess this will do" for me was Jessica Jones and it was only like 8/10.

As to the Captain Marvel reworking into only being female from the beginning thing. Does anybody really care about this? I have literally never met anybody who listed Captain Marvel on even their like top ten favorite superheros. If some superhero gets remade, it seems better to use some tertiary "Who the fuck is this guy?" hero rather than trying to shoehorn in a female Thor or the like.

The response to the animated movie seem positive, and Sony is working on a sequel and a Spider-girls only spinoff. So I could see them being setting up Spiderverse as "the Sony Spiderman franchise" and keep Tom Holland's Spidey in the MCU.

But it's Sony. Thei're a bunch of greedy idiots. More so than the average Hollywood studio. So I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't realize the Venom movie sold only because of the sheer popularity of the character and the actor playing it, and decide they don't need to use the MCU as a crutch anymore. Especially with Amy Pascale and Avi Arad still in charge.

Well, the fact is that the original Captain Marvel is like the one superhero whos death was permanent, so he hasn't been around for ages, minus a couple fakes and other timelines dopplegangers, but back in the day he was a fairly major player. He was the one guy Thanos had any amount of respect for, despite him foiling his plans multiple times, that alone should say something. Still, it's not a gigantic problem per se. But given what's going on with the comics, both with the female Cap. Marvel and in general at Marvel, it's a change of story with some worrisome implications.

And funny you mentioned Female Thor. It's already been rumored they're gonna start doing the genderswapped heroes thing. Currently it seems like the first one could be Hawkeye, who might get a solo movie just to introduce his female replacement.

So one more MCU movie almost certainly confirmed for the post Avengers 4: thei're doing a Shang-Chi film.

For those who don't know, Shang-Chi is Marvel's Bruce Lee clone, he doesn't come from a magical kingdom, he doesn't have superpowers, he's just a street vigilante that knows martial arts and punches and kicks people alot.

Apparently the plan is to "reinvent him" and make him the asian equivalent of Black Panther. Okay... ?

So basically thei're giving an MCU movie to the guy who would have worked best into a gritty Netflix show, and gave Iron FIst, the martial artist hero with superpowers, a cool costume and that fights dragons and undead ninja a Netflix show with none of that.

Plus there's a lot of interesting asian superheroes in Marvel comics, if that's all thei're after... I mean... most of them are mutants, but in a few months Disney is getting the rights of those too.

Dunno, if it's true, which seems all but confirmed, seems like a very silly choice to me.

It's possible, but the Marvel movies do in China almost as well as in the US and Europe already. And trying to pander to the asian market by randomly adding an asian character to the core cast didn't help Star Wars either. Nor a lot of other movie franchises that were already doing good in China, like Transformers and Pacific Rim.

Not surprising since China don't have the nostalgia for Star Wars as the rest of the world as Chinese leadership don't really like other's people culture and was a "socialist" nation for a long time.

The newer movies relies on that nostalgia, a little to much and I imagine it's pushing the Chinese people off as they have like no clue what is going on in that film universe.

The MCU do have a starting point, takes place in a world similar to ours and have easy stories, themes, etc to follow.

Well, Japan does give a shit about the source material when it comes to games and anime, and doesn't feel the compulsion to change everything to make it more "easy to digest" or "inclusive". So I'm not surprised.
