4 months eh? That's quite a lot, hopefully this is to actually polish and improving the game, and no to botch it and try to sell it into smaller pieces later, like they did with the latest Deus Ex game.

But being a "live service" title, I guess that was always the plan so... yeah, could really just be a case of polishing a game for once.

I still don't quite know what to make of this one. On one hand, we haven't gotten a good big Marvel game in years, with the exception of the occasional good or okay Spiderman one, on the other... we still don't know how intrusive the online component is, and while I like the movies I'm really fucking tired of everything Avengers-related having to look like the MCU these days. And it's a particular shame considering this game is Square Enix produced, since not only thei're infamous for their crazy character designs, but they actually have an whole damn toyline of redesigned Marvel characters, showing how unique they could have made them look if allowed them to do it.

I guess I'm hoping it's good, but I won't be surprised if it isn't...

maybe they are trying to make the character designs to not looks so bad, they still looks cringy as all hell.

Hmm... took some extra time to improve the face. Good. The Bat-villains skin pack is a neat extra too. That Batman Who Laughs costume is very cool.

Oh, and also Smash Brothers is getting another Marth clone as its last season 1 extra character, and a "turn you into the character" Cuphead Mii costume. And at least the second character pack is coming with an extra fighter, apparently.

Yeah, but the Mario characters (and Pokemon for that matter) all play WILDLY differently.

Every Fire Emblem character feels exactly like Marth, just in different speeds.

I wouldn't go that far. Marth and Link are pretty profoundly different characters in terms of gameplay.

And considering that Echo fighters actually have slightly different animation speeds and are in slightly different tiers (Dark Samus is generally regarded as better than regular Samus) it is perfectly fair to say there are actually 10 or 11 Marths. Not Just 8.

The American and European side of the fanbase managed to get Ridley, K Rool, Banjo-Kazooie, and the Belmonts into SSBU; I begrudgingly suppose its only a fair counterbalance for Japan to get some of their specific big requests in return, and Byleth was definitely a big one. Inevitable, even. If I remember right, that chart that came out a few months ago featuring what everyone's biggest picks for DLC were had Byleth as Japan's fifth or fourth most requested choice. I think its a wasted slot for a multitude of reasons, but I can't complain too hard given that a lot of my dream team picks have become reality. Though if any of the next 6 DLC are more FE characters, or more "anime swordsmen" in general, I'm going to be far less understanding in my response. Still crazy to think how popular and well-known FE has become as a franchise though. Remember the days when people unlocked Marth and Roy in Melee and had no clue what games they were from?

To be fair the Mouse don't care much when it comes to video games, they don't care about KH, hell they didn't want to give the video game series an animated TV series and there exist a pilot as a pitch for one.
