An entire city has been quarantined.

There are doctors there that are terrified, trying to get answers or something from authorities about this and there are just too many cases for them to deal with effectively.

Just listen to how stressed, annoyed and downright scared this doctor sounds.

But more seriously, lack of information aside, is this bug any worse than swine flu or bird flu or any of these other "FREAK OUT PANDEMIC AAAAHHH" moments?

Some virologists have been apparently saying this could be 10X worse than SARS.
Which could mean either a higher infection rate, or a higher mortality rate.
If it's mortality then approximately 8000 dead if we use the SARS figures.

Currently the latest figures I know are between 300-600 total reported cases of this new virus. So multiplying by ten then 6000 potential dead if the severity is to believed from these rumoured virologist opinions/estimations.

I have no clue if it's actually true but the fact China is bring do hush hush and cagey leads me to suspect this is worse than it seems.

It being Chinese is what makes it annoying. Their figures are lies, but they also have a very large, dense, poor population, so the "normal" flu probably kills them at a higher rate anyway.

yeah China isn't a good example for Western countries with good health care and better living standrads.

Apparently a huge temp-hospital made of prefabricated buildings is being made in Wuhan for all the Cornavirus patients.
I have heard rumours of one going up in Shanghai too.

I do think they will try to treat them. I also think we will never know how many people enter that hospital, and how many leave it in a box. Just like we are unlikely to learn what kind of procedures they will use in order to find a cure.

Agreed. I don't doubt thei're working on finding a cure. But there's no saying how many infected people will end up being used as non-volounteered guinea pigs to achieve that.

It took me a distressing amount of time to realize that wasn't a budget Resident Evil game, ala Revelations, and in fact, an "homage."

Saw a bit of Metokur's stream tonight on Chynuh and the virus. It seems a very poor idea to have thousands of people crammed into hospitals, with people both violently ill with this new strain of flu, or, corpses, all in public view, with possible air-borne vectors, and people are wearing cheap paper masks. Better than nothing, but all the same, my inner biologist is screaming, "Ground zero."

Correct. This is the smaller, less expansive series for those who find the main line a little too pricey.
The bigger ones have a shipping date for outside of Japan listed as sometime in the next two months if not sooner, the last time I checked.

Only one I've seen being avaiable for order is the first one, which is of course Goji himself, that should be coming out in a couple months as far as I know, yes. Have that one on preorder on the Sideshow website, because they allow you to pay a bit each month if you want instead than everything at once. Only saw a few renders and prototypes of the rest. Am I missing something?

I suspect if I ever came into money, my natural paranoia would ramp up greatly when dealing with transportation. I already hate driving, or being around cars, if I was actually worth anything, even more so.
