It's up there with steep roofs as aspects of the job I will refuse to interact with unless absolutely necessary. Few years back, had a bunch of dorms to do at a college in a nearby city. Saw a large man as tall as me for the first time ever. I was kinda impressed. Guy must've been 400+ pounds, easy, to get to "Bubba" form on our sort of frame. As in, 5k calories+ a day, every day, for years. Absolute unit.

Then the rest of my day was spent lost in the ole' mortality thoughts spiral. So I hope you guys had a better one. Been a busy week, so dreams of getting to sleep more than 6 hours tomorrow night is about the only thing keeping my bones moving right now.

Meanwhile, I live in a country with lots more infected, and not too far away from the main infected zones in particular either, and yet the biggest concern people seem to have is that the soccer games have been put on hold for a few weeks, and the only person with a mask I've seen in a month was a guy from Tunisy worried he might catch something from US.

Being italian feels like I'm living in some unfunny comedy show, at times.

Welp, the virus is about a city away from reaching my neighbourhood, and I just got call from work and told we'll be closed for all of March. It's not that big of an issue for me personally since I spend a lot of time indoors anyway, and I can make up for the money I won't be making taking some more art commissions. But the atmosphere around here is not exactly the best, and I worry about friends and family too of course...

Considering all the people hospitalized and the dead, it's more than just annoying. It's still not a plague or anything, but it's more than just a bad flu outbreak at this point and needs to be taken seriously.

Anyway, got already put on hold from the job, so I'm just gonna stay locked the fuck up and endure. As big nerd and introvert, it's not gonna be that much of a problem. Plus unlike many others I can still make money from home drawing stuff. I'm worried, but I'm going to stay cautiosly optimistic and let this all blow off.

Well when I say annoying I mean depressingly oppressive.

If anything it might give me a chance to relearn skills.
It sucks that people are going to lose out on payed work if this gets worse in the UK.

As someone in retail I am already annoyed with panic buyers...and it'd only get worse if there are more massive upticks of cases.

I shopped instacart this weekend. Saturday alone I had to cancel 4 batches because people wanted the toilet paper and water bottles that everyone else already bought up. Everyone everywhere was in a panic and I rolled my eyes along with all the Coscto staff. I purposely stayed clear of all Costco orders Sunday. I wasn't going to deal with the parking, waiting and chaos only to have to cancel my orders. Oh, and Costco suspended free food samples for the time being so there was absolutely no point in even being there.

Also this morning when I woke up I had one of those serious discussions with myself over whether I should continue going to the gym or quit cold turkey. I still got myself up, ran my dog for 20 minutes and worked on my chest for an hour, but I felt honestly ready to admit defeat and become a fat old man. It's strange since I'm been running lots and hitting the gym 3 times a week without fail since before Thanksgiving. Does anyone else get that feeling 3 to 4 months into something like that?

Most of what I do these days is nsfw art. Not exactly what I expected to end up doing back in artschool, but if it helps pay the bills it's still worth doing. Plus I do have fun with it.

Still do more "legitimate" stuff now and then too of course, but after what went on with the indie game debacle of a couple years ago I tend to be VERY selective with what I get involved with.

Very true to both. It's just funny to think back to school days and what I wanted to do instead. I'm definately not complaining.
